Pudgy Penguins NFT Project launches an animated YouTube series
The series, released Tuesday, follows four penguin characters who live in Underberg, a fictional iceberg world. Aiming for Children and Family, the announcement shared with Bitcoin.com News states that Lil Pudgys will blend humor and adventure, marking Pudgy Penguins’ first foray into a long animation.
The episode will only be released on the Pudgy Penguins YouTube channel, with two new installments each week following a special debut episode. Currently, Pudgy Penguins’ existing social media footprint includes 2 million Instagram followers, 500,000 Tiktok followers and 41 billion Giphy views.
“Thesoul Publishing was the perfect partner to bring Pudgy Penguins to life,” said Luca Netz, CEO of Pudgy Penguins. Known for its viral series like “5 minute Crafts,” the studio has attracted over 2 billion followers worldwide.
Patrik Wilkens, Vice President of Business Development at Thesoul, called the partnership to capitalize on the brand’s popularity a “360-degree strategy.” The company creates content in 21 languages and operates the channel across YouTube, Facebook and Tiktok.
Pudgy Penguins has already expanded to physical products, generating $10 million in retail sales through partnerships with Walmart, Target and Walgreens. The animation project said its goals coincided with a broader effort to move Web3-Native IP to mainstream entertainment.
Pudgy Penguins recently turned Pengu, a native cryptocurrency distributed through a large Airdrop initiative, into AirDropped Pengu. However, in the time frame over the past 30 days, tokens have plummeted in value by 51.9% compared to US dollars. For now, Pengu has maintained its market capitalization of nearly $515 million.
