- Moving the Ronin Bridge to ChainLink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) provides increased security and a more robust bridging experience for asset transfers between Ethereum and Ronin.
- CCIP Bridges support a wider range of tokens, such as Weth, USDC, Pixel, Axs, etc., but tokens such as WBTC and LUA are not yet compatible.
After beginning the migration to Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) on Ronin Bridge, the Ronin network has migrated to cross-chain infrastructure and launched major upgrades. The goal of this transition is to provide a safer and more susceptible bridging experience for users transferring Ethereum assets to Ronin.
Everything about Ronin Bridge & ChainLink CCIP Collaboration
Last year, Ronin Balidators voted to adopt CCIP as Network’s Canonical Bridge protocol. This is an important move that follows. After the migration process, the world has moved to Ronin and is preparing to abolish legacy bridges by the end of April and fully migrate to CCIP, chain links.
This upgrade allows users to bridge larger spectral tokens, such as Weth, USDC, Pixel, and Axs. Unfortunately, at this stage some of the tokens such as WBTC, Lua, Luausd are not yet supported by the CCIP bridge.
“The Ronin Bridge CCIP has begun! More powerful bridge security with chain links” I wrote it In X., the announcement also highlighted the ability to “bridize Weth, USDC, Pixel, Axs, and more.” He added that the old Ronin Bridge will be officially removed on April 21st.
Furthermore, for context, two active bridges, the Legacy Ronin Bridge and CCIP, function simultaneously after the transition period. The old bridge will be closed from April 21st, and from April 25th, the CCIP Bridge will take over all cross-chain functions. Additionally, Ronin Network said all tokens still sitting on the legacy bridge will be automatically moved to CCIP by April 24th and 25th.
Last month, Ronin officially competed in Opensy, expanding his reach beyond being an exclusive platform for collectibles like Axie Infinity. The blockchain network allows users to directly trade and mint NFTs in the world’s largest NFT market, as mentioned in a previous report.
Encourage action for exchange with developers
Additionally, the key phrases in the article will be to put the ball in the developer’s court, act quickly and exchange CCIP to integrate into the system. “If you haven’t done it yet, we recommend granting CCIP the rights to Dumateur,” advised the network.
The whole team says this transition is very clear that it is intended to secure a bar for cross-chain activities at Ronin. The network considers it to lay the foundation for adoption and interaction within the Web3 ecosystem to support interoperability across CCIPs over 46 networks.
“This alliance strengthens connective tissue between our movement and other communities, bringing builders closer to countless Web3 users,” the Ronin team wrote in the announcement.
Now, users must take action as the transition progresses. However, from April 21st, all bridge activities must be carried out through CCIP, the end of the CCIP legacy OD. Therefore, this step brings Ronin one step closer to a complete infrastructure shift towards a safer and scalable future for cross-chains.
