Altlayer, Astar Network and Eigenlayer work together to reduce the final time to under 10 seconds on Soneium. Soneium currently uses Ethereum’s fraud prevention mechanism. This requires a delay of nearly 15 minutes for the L1 settlement. Therefore, the latest developments aim to achieve a significant final speed.
Despite its security, the aforementioned delays are a hindrance to applications requiring reliable, fast cross-chain transactions. Use cases related to gaming, social platforms, and distributed finance (DEFI) are particularly sensitive to this type of latency. It can hinder real-time interactions and be a major obstacle for consumers.
To address this issue, Astar Network is integrated with Altlayer’s modular asynchronous consensus Hybir technology. Integration with the main rebuild infrastructure Eigenlayer provides a fast final layer, allowing Soneium to verify transfers in real time. Altlayer’s Mach solution expands the capabilities of your L2 network by offering a cutting-edge suite of improvements that improve speed, security and decentralization. A dual token model with $ast and $eth is used to provide enhanced security. Validators use both tokens to protect the network. This opens up exclusive staking opportunities.
