Ethereum Foundation (EF) announced Rebuilding Leadership On April 28, the two co-directors emphasized the areas of focus and separated the areas of work for the management team and the board.
The changes are part of efforts to strengthen strategic implementation, strengthen internal operations and further support the growing Ethereum (ETH) ecosystem.
Hsiao-Wei Wang and Tomasz K. Stańczak were appointed co-executive directors in March as part of a restructuring aimed at balancing technical expertise and operational leadership.
EF has revealed that co-executive directors will work closely with the broader management team to implement the foundation’s vision through strategic planning, ecosystem stewardship and operational oversight.
Bastian Aue and Josh Stark joined the management team in defined areas of focus, including organizational strategy, employment, project execution, and communication.
Management structure and board monitoring
Under the new structure, the management team will take care of day-to-day operations and the board will oversee vision and compliance.
The current board consists of Ethereum co-founders Vitalik Buterin, President Aya Miyaguchi, Swiss Counsel Patrick Storchenegger and Co-Executive Director Hsiao-Wei Wang.
The Board ensures that the management decisions and Foundation principles are consistent and have the authority to appoint, and terminate executive leadership when necessary.
