Some Dogecoin (Doge) community members are unhappy with one of its great supporters, Elon Musk. These community members have expressed concern and dissatisfaction over the suspension of Dogecoin-related accounts on the platform X, owned by Musk.
Account suspension stirs tension in Dogecoin circles
In a @backtothedoge post posted in response to a call for support, users highlighted how X cracked down on community accounts supporting DogeCoin. He noted that Musk-supervised social media platform X has suspended several accounts.
According to Backtothedoge, Musk and the X platforms unfairly stop users from using Dogecoin names in handles or content.
“I wonder why these Dogecoin accounts were listed below, which were stopped for using the name Dogecoin name similarity when legally considered genetic by @uspto,” he wrote.
Backtothedoge claims that the USPTO already considers it a “Dogecoin” generic. Therefore, it is wrong for either X or its agents to suspend an account using general terms.
He believes that no one has an exclusive right to its use.
We show support, but if we need it, there is no support that many of us have asked about. I’m wondering why these Dogecoin accounts are suspended when they are considered genetic by @Uspto using similarity in these Dogecoin names.

The broader issue for this user is also about X community members, including Elon Musk, who do not show support for these accounts.
Users emphasized that despite the vast amount of support – the fact that the suspended accounts show the ecosystem, no one, including Elon Musk, has been reciprocating the gestures. On the contrary, there have been reports that Elon Musk has shown support for Doge and the community.
Doge Community Advocate claims clarity and fair treatment, primarily because it belongs to grassroots individuals whose accounts are trying to promote Dogecoin.
Security concerns or target crackdown?
While concerns and frustration sound reasonable, some technical experts believe X has decided to suspend its account for security reasons.
In particular, malicious actors can exploit this to impersonate the official Dogecoin platform and tempt unsuspecting users to believe in fraudulent links.
Elon Musk has not responded to observations to clarify the actions, whether it is truly a deliberate crackdown or providing a reason for the suspension.
