The two men reportedly were arrested for throwing adult toys during a Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) game.
Five incidents of adult toys, primarily green in colour, have been thrown onto the court during WNBA games.
Speaking to USA Today on Thursday, a spokesman for the group behind the recently launched Green Dildo Coin (Dildo) Memecoin said he and other cryptography enthusiasts were behind the stunt.
The stunt has attracted criticism from WNBA players and coaches as an already polarised and niche memocoin culture is trying to highlight bets in busy markets where steam is struggling to maintain.
Dard Lane said the token was created as a light protest against what he described as a toxic environment dominated by influencers and con artists within the Memocoin space.
“We knew we had to go out and do some viral stunts to save us from having to pay for that influencer cabal,” he said. “We want to change culture with codes, and we want to be 1,000 people.”
To highlight the project, he said the dildo was green as an homage to cipher slang for the rising price action on the trading chart, while also being an attempt to inspire curiosity from onlookers.
He suggested that the Memecoin group keeps attracting attention and focus towards lighter and “more tasteful” pranks.
Two adult toy throwers allegedly arrested
Daldo Lane told USA Today that neither of them are part of the Memocoin group, but the two men, Kaden Lopez and Delbert Carver, were arrested on charges of allegedly taking part in a stunt throwing a sex toy.
Fox 10 Phoenix reported on Wednesday that 18-year-old Lopez had seen the virus trends on social media and had bought adult toys and joined.
USA Today reported that Carver was arrested in Georgia on Saturday and accused authorities of throwing adult toys on Atlanta basketball courts.
He reportedly faces charges related to disorderly conduct, public indecency and criminal trespassing.
WNBA expresses anger
The stunts attracted acute criticism from WNBA players and coaches. He said the stunts pose a safety risk and demonstrate a lack of respect for the game.
“It’s ridiculous, it’s ridiculous, it’s ridiculous,” said coach Lynn Roberts after the incident at the Crypto.com arena on Tuesday.
According to the WNBA Code of Conduct page, fans could be caught throwing all of their fans to court and thrown out of the stadium and face the potential criminal charges.

Dard Lane reportedly shrugged the suggestion that stunts are intended as a sign of disrespect for female athletes, but others said the stunts have misogynistic roots.
Similar pranks have appeared in other sports, including the 2018 National Football League match between New England Patriots and Buffalo Bill.
MemeCoin market has fallen from its peak
According to CoinmarketCap data, the MemeCoin market is currently at a market capitalization of $70.6 billion, down nearly 45% from its peak at $127.26 billion on December 6th.
Pump.Fun, the largest launchpad in the Memecoin industry, has seen its worst month of 2025, increasing its revenues by 80% since its peak in January to just $24.96 million in July.
