The Philippine Senator proposes a national budget system for blockchain
Philippine Sen. Bam Aquino advocates for the placement of the entire Philippine national budget on the blockchain. The proposal will allow citizens to track all pesos based on the existing budgetary management blockchain platform.
Currently, Bayani Chain is choosing the government’s financial document record system. The platform uses Polygon’s Proof-of-Stake network for transparency. If realized, the Philippines could be the first country to have completely blockchain-based budgetary control.
Separately, Rep. Miguel Luis Villaraferte proposed to acquire 10,000 Bitcoins as a strategic reserve. The bill will require a 20-year holding period with limited liquidation options and will place Bitcoin nationwide along with gold and foreign exchange reserves.
