Diplomatic efforts to negotiate a ceasefire between the United States and Iran have stalled. According to the Wall Street Journal, there has been no progress in the ongoing negotiations, which are considered a “stalemate.”
The impasse in the process stems from a message conveyed by Iran to the mediator. Iran’s government has publicly said it is unwilling to meet with U.S. officials in Islamabad in the coming days, calling the U.S. government’s demands “unacceptable.”

Meanwhile, military development on the ground is also attracting attention. A search and rescue operation has been launched to search for the crew after a US fighter jet was shot down over Iran, Axios news agency reported. According to CBS News, the US military was able to rescue one crew member from the downed aircraft.
According to Axios, Israel called off a planned attack on Iran to avoid disrupting search and rescue operations.
