XRP trading via WhatsApp began after wrapped XRP, known as wXRP, went live on the Solana blockchain. This will allow traders to exchange digital assets through a non-custodial wallet linked to WhatsApp. The entire setup and process is powered by an AI bot with the support of Solana’s DEX aggregator. AI bots handle text-based cryptocurrency transactions, revolutionizing the way users initiate transactions.
AI-powered bots operate based on command prompts. For example, when a user sends a text command such as “Buy 0.1 SOL worth of wXRP,” the WhatsApp network reads the request and routes the transaction through the Solana DEX aggregator. This allows users to complete token exchanges through a chat-based interface. However, WhatsApp functionality here is limited to messaging commands only. Rather than initiating a trade, it routes the trade to a DeFi aggregator.
Buying and selling XRP: WhatsApp routes messages to Solana DeFi
The Solana DeFi app widely accepts wXRP across networks including Raydium, Orca, Kamino, Marginfi, and Backpack. wXRP’s WhatsApp integration is a new feature, and this partnership was made possible through the involvement of LayerZero and Hex Trust. The digital assets sector continues to evolve by providing new integrations and features to users. This also allows users to invest and accumulate in different ways based on their preferences.
The trade was first revealed by a mysterious trader on X who goes by the handle XNNX. “I bought XRP on Solana through WhatsApp. Solana is officially ready for boomers.” read the tweet, which includes a screenshot of the transaction, which has been redacted for security reasons. However, despite the new move, not everyone is excited about this new feature. Investors prefer core DeFi methods for trading, and WhatsApp is owned by Meta. Safety and security have always been a concern for Mark Zuckerberg’s company, which has come under a flurry of privacy investigations.
