Toncoin is making major changes to its cost structure. According to Pavel Durov, transaction fees on the network will fall by a factor of 6 within a week, bringing the cost down to just 0.00039. $t Fixed (~$0.0005) per transaction, regardless of network load.
This is more than just a fee reduction. This is part of a broader push under the MTONGA roadmap, and Durov also acknowledged that most transactions could soon become completely fee-free. This move follows the recent Catchain 2.0 upgrade that has already taken place. $t Blockchain is 10x faster and achieves sub-second finality.
“Soon most transactions will be completely free. Zero commissions. Mutonga!”
How will the pricing model change?
$tThe previous fee was approximately 0.00234 $t (~$0.003), meaning this update significantly reduces costs while completely eliminating congestion-based variability.

Compared to other networks, the difference is huge. Ethereum still incurs fees of $1-$10+ for peak usage, while Bitcoin’s range is $0.50-$5. Even though Solana is known for its low prices, prices can skyrocket under load.
The flat fee is $0.0005 and may drop to zero soon. $t is driving toward a new baseline in blockchain economics, where microtransactions are commercialized at scale.
Why this is important for recruitment
The bigger story is distribution. $t is tightly integrated with Telegram, which has over 950 million users. What has been missing so far has been fee efficiency at the consumer scale.
It facilitates use cases such as creator tipping, micropayments, in-app purchases, and cross-border remittances at near-zero cost. By sending even $0.01 with zero fees, cryptocurrencies begin to compete directly with platforms like Venmo and PayPal.
price reaction
Despite the development, price fluctuations have not yet persisted. Analyst Ruslan Khairlin points out: $t is still down 57% year-to-date, highlighting the weak market response in the near term.

Others remain bullish. Another X user pointed out: $t is “running in real-time” and is already faster, next will be a zero-fee transaction.
There are still five steps on the roadmap, but the timeline remains undisclosed. For now, $t is not only reducing fees, but redefining what “usable” blockchain infrastructure looks like at scale.
Confirmed and implicit steps
$t Catchain 2.0 upgrade is 10x faster and provides near-instant transaction finality. Fees have also been reduced six times to approximately $0.0005, keeping prices stable even during peak seasons.
Pavel Durov confirmed that most transactions will soon be completely free. The ultimate goal is a global payments network that allows anyone to send money instantly, free of charge, from microtransactions to international remittances.
