Strategy CEO Von Leh said the company’s success depends on more than just Bitcoin on its balance sheet.
In his post on X, he maintained that Strategy’s enterprise software business remains a core part of the company’s long-term model.
Le said the software division provides strategic engineers, a cloud team, enterprise customers, compliance systems and global operations that most digital asset companies don’t have. The main argument is that the strategy’s success is rooted in more than just Bitcoin, but it all depends on whether the software business can continue to grow while Bitcoin captures the attention of investors.
Software growth in Q1 supports Bitcoin costs
Strategy reported total revenue of $124.3 million for the first quarter of 2026, an increase of 11.9% from $111.1 million in the same period last year. The company also posted gross profit of $83.4 million, with a gross margin of 67.1%.
Le said the first quarter was the strongest software quarter in a decade, supported by 12% revenue growth and 59% cloud revenue growth. He added that controllable margins increased by 27%, contributing to funding Bitcoin’s operating costs.
This update comes as Strategy’s Bitcoin strategy continues to come under scrutiny. The company reported a first-quarter net loss of $12.54 billion, compared with a loss of $4.22 billion in the year-ago period.
As reported by Crypto.news, Strategy raised $25.3 billion in 2025 to expand its Bitcoin financial strategy. The report also notes that Von Leh is focused on expanding STRC to support Bitcoin per share growth.
Strategy shifts to AI and enterprise data
Le said Strategy has built an AI data foundation called Mosaic. The platform links large language models, hyperscalers, and data warehouses to a secure enterprise data layer.
He also said the company is leveraging AI to restructure its internal systems and expects more workflows to be automated.
Strategy’s message is clear. The software sector is no longer just a legacy business. This is part of the reason why the company’s Bitcoin financial model can operate at an institutional scale.
