Morgan Stanley Wealth Management has partnered with Galaxy Digital on a referral program that allows eligible clients to lend cryptocurrencies in exchange for shares in Spot Cryptocurrency ETPs, including the Morgan Stanley Bitcoin Trust. The service aims to help clients integrate digital assets more efficiently into their traditional investment portfolios.
Through this arrangement, Morgan Stanley will educate clients about digital assets and connect interested investors with Galaxy. The program provides a regulated pathway to convert your cryptocurrency holdings into investment products that can be held alongside other portfolio assets.
Clients participating in the program can lend cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana to Galaxy. Galaxy then facilitates the creation and distribution of ETP shares once the trade is settled through an approved structure.
Companies expect the new process to significantly reduce onboarding delays. Currently, similar transactions take more than a month to complete, but the new model could reduce onboarding time by up to 75%.
Access is also expanding. Galaxy will reduce the minimum loan amount for Morgan Stanley-referred customers from $25 million to $5 million, making the service available to a broader group of qualified investors.
