The Bitmine chairman explains that the recent rally in gold, where gold hit a new all-time high, continues to be very bullish for Bitcoin and Ethereum as gold moves first and then Bitcoin catches up. Lee added that he believes gold is actually helping Bitcoin’s future terminal price.
When asked what the fair value of Bitcoin would be if gold reached $5,000, Lee said that if you divide gold’s market capitalization by the number of Bitcoins, it would be between $1.6 million and $2 million per coin.
when?
Lee’s predictions suggest that if matched with gold’s $5,000 network value, Bitcoin’s fair value would be between $1.6 million and $2 million.
When asked about the time frame it will take for Bitcoin to get there, Lee said the next five years, or 2030. “We’ll see that for Bitcoin in five years,” he said, adding that Bitcoin will not be capped by gold because it will actually be pulled up by gold.
Lee said he expects the price of Bitcoin to reach $200,000 by the end of 2025, and said it is still likely that Bitcoin will become huge in the fourth quarter. “I still think it’s possible for Bitcoin to reach $200,000 by the end of the year,” Lee said.
Chairman Bitmain cited Fed easing as a catalyst for Bitcoin’s Q4 price movement. Asked about the validity of Bitcoin’s four-year cycle, Lee said: “I think the cycle is longer, but there will still be drawdowns of more than 50 percent in the future, or the cycle will break.”
At the time of this writing, Bitcoin was trading at $109,986.
