Bitdeer Technologies Group announced that the SEAL03 wafer achieved a record 9.7 Joules per Terrahash (J/TH) efficiency during testing, confirming plans to begin mass production of SEALMiner A3 mining rigs in the second half of 2025.
9.7 j/th milestone, Bitdeer Advances Sealminer A3 heads for the 2025 rollout
Designed for Bitdeer’s next-generation Sealminer A3 machines, the SEAL03 chip exhibited 9.7 j/TH efficiency in prototype testing under low voltage, ultra-power savings. This is an important step to improving the energy efficiency of Bitcoin mining hardware and is a key factor for the industry to tighten its margins.
Mass production of the SealMiner A3 is expected to begin in the second half of 2025, positioning Bitdeer to compete in the highly efficient mining rig market. The company is also continuing to develop the SealMiner A4, targeting 5 j/th efficiency at the first chip tapeout of Q3 2025.
The expansion of the infrastructure is intended to support these advances. The 100 MW water cooling facility in Rockdale, Texas began phased activation in March 2025, with over 500 Sealminer AI units already in operation. In Norway, a 40 MW Tidal Phase 1 project is approaching regulatory approval, while Bhutan’s 500 MW Zigmering Site is on track for the completion of the substation by the end of March 2025.
Bitdeer’s management emphasized expanding its high-performance computing and artificial intelligence (AI) ventures by leveraging its 2.6 GW global power portfolio. The company said it focuses on implementing its chip roadmap and infrastructure plans, and is focusing on ongoing consultations with its US-based partners for large-scale projects.
The company will announce updates at multiple investor meetings by May 2025, including the Roth Growth Conference and Bitcoin 2025.
