Theta Labs, a provider of decentralized cloud infrastructure for AI, media and entertainment, announced that Deutsche Telekom has joined Theta Network as an enterprise validator, becoming the first telco to operate a validator node on the blockchain. Deutsche Telekom now joins existing validators including Google, Samsung, and Sony to support the Theta ecosystem.
As an enterprise validator, Deutsche Telekom will help secure and verify transactions on Theta’s L1 blockchain, built for AI, media and entertainment applications. Validators on the network stake THETA tokens to maintain network integrity and receive TFUEL as staking rewards.
Theta Network’s infrastructure supports Theta EdgeCloud, a distributed hybrid platform that combines cloud and edge computing to provide distributed GPU power for AI, video rendering, and data processing. Deutsche Telekom continues to expand its blockchain presence through its subsidiary Deutsche Telekom MMS, which already supports major networks such as Ethereum, Polkadot, and Chainlink.
