On April 30, 2025, Malaysia launched Malaysian Blockchain Infrastructure (MBI). This is a step in digital transformation journey that integrates a fragmented digital ecosystem and makes blockchain-based services accessible to everyone. Developed by Mimos Berhad and My EG Services Berhad and powered by the Zetrix Public Layer-1 blockchain, MBI is designed to promote seamless cross-border transactions and increase interoperability across a variety of blockchain networks. The initiative is part of Malaysia’s national blockchain roadmap and is intended to support a wide range of applications, including supply chain traceability and digital identity verification. With MBI, Malaysia will seek to strengthen its competitiveness in the blockchain sector, promote digital inclusion, promote collaboration between the public and private sectors, and ultimately position the country as a regional leader in blockchain adoption and innovation.
