Tokyo-based investment company Metaplanet said it added 150 Bitcoin (BTC) on Monday to acquire total holdings of 3,350 BTC, worth around $291 million at its current market rate.
The purchase comes days after the company has made Eric Trump, the son of US President Donald Trump, the newly established Strategic Advisory Committee. He is expected to bring a high-profile perspective to Metaplanet’s ambitions.
Metaplanet is working to increase shareholder value by purchasing and holding Bitcoin using a measure called BTC yield.
BTC yields indicate the rate of change in the amount of Bitcoin you own compared to the total number of stocks over a set time. From July to September 2024, BTC yield was 41.7%. In other words, Bitcoin Stash has grown steadily compared to stocks. It then jumped to 309.8% from October to December 2024 as it bought more Bitcoin while prices were surged.
So far, from January 1st to March 24th in 2025, they reached a BTC yield of 68.3% per Monday document.
