Ripple Engineer shares XRPL optimization fix ideas
Community discusses Trustlines for MPT and Efficiency
XRPL gets credential corrections
Ripplex is moving forward to make XRP Ledger (XRPL) faster and more efficient. Ripplex Software Engineer Mayukha Vadari shared with X that several draft specifications will be released in the coming weeks to improve performance, reduce storage issues and enhance security.
The draft is still in its early stages, but it has already sparked debate throughout the XRP community.
Optimized accounts and trust lines
One of the first such fix ideas is called Optimized Accounts and Trustlines. This is an alternative proposal that will make some minor changes to how accounts are structured and how reservations are calculated.
Over the past few weeks I’ve noticed that many of the specs I’ve been sitting in my draft might actually be useful for discussion. So in the next few weeks, I’ll be publishing them as ideas (I don’t have time to polish them).
The first of these are: https://t.co/gn0mq2uzpi-Mayukha Vadari (@msvadari) September 11, 2025
Unlike the XLS-23D, this alternative approach avoids account restrictions, flags, or complex conversions between “light” and “full” accounts. You can also be billed only for resources that your account actively uses. This is unlike existing proposals where accounts are billed for full spares, and you will always be billed for full spares.
MPTS and Trustlines
Is MPT the future of the trust line?
Community members questioned whether MPT (Multipurpose Token) would eventually replace TrustLines.
In response, Vadari said it was too early to tell because MPTS is not live yet, and there is still much work to be done to be fully integrated into the XRPL functionality. Vadari also added that in her opinion there are few use cases where the trust line could be better than MPT.
XRPL DUNL BALIDATOR VET welcomed the idea and highlighted the continued importance of storage size and preliminary calculations in ledgers. Veterinarians say savings of over 200 MB appear to be small from the trust line of over 6 million. This raises doubt as trust lines are often seen as a major driver of storage growth. The vet also added that MPT is much more efficient, but they continue to be new specifications.
Vadari explains that Trustlines accounts for about 30% of the ledger data. Trustline savings reduce the ledger by 6%, which means about 20% of Trustline storage space. She also made it clear that these numbers are rough estimates.
New Credentials and Firewall Features
In addition to optimization efforts, XRPL also rolls out new features for security and compliance.
Credential modifications allow developers and businesses to directly manage identity checks and compliance in XRPL. This means that credentials such as KYC and AML checks can be connected to the user’s distributed identity to issue, store, and verify on-chain.
The XRPL community is also investigating an XLS-86 “firewall” proposal designed to protect user assets in the event of a private key compromise. This feature can prevent complete loss of XRP, tokens, and NFTs.
These proposals highlight Ripplex’s broader driving force for strengthening the XRP ledger. They are competitive and are preparing for the future!
