The decentralized virtual game World Sandbox has announced the consolidation of buying and selling land features on its website. This update allows users to conduct transactions directly within the Sandbox Marketplace, eliminating the requirement to use third-party platforms such as OpenSea. Additionally, in line with the launch of this new feature, Sandbox will be waived from all fees for listing land for the next two months.
To list the lands, the user goes to the inventory section and selects a land card. The land cards will redirect to the map section and proceed to the list for sale. Within the map section, users can urge action along with land details and a “list for sale.” Additionally, users must set the price and date of the list by opening and managing the side panel.
Meanwhile, to purchase land, users can go to the map, select the land and open its details. Clicking this call to action opens a side panel where users can complete their purchase.
To run a transaction through the market, users must go to the Land & Estates section, select a land card, then proceed to the map where they can finalize their purchases.
In particular, land sales will incur a 5% creator royalty fee paid to the sandbox.
Sandbox: Create, own and monetize virtual gaming experiences
Sandboxes are a virtual world where individuals have the ability to use blockchain technology to create, uniquely and monetize gaming experiences. Includes several core components, game content, land, impossible tokens (NFT) assets, and sand. Land represents a digital real estate in Metaverse where users have the option to create virtual experiences. Virtual Land’s popularity led to all available pieces sold out on all land sales that have been made up to now.
Additionally, the sandbox is structured to develop a creator economy where users can develop and participate in games hosted on individual lands. Creators earn 95% of their revenue from NFTs they create and sell on the Sandbox Marketplace. This revenue model allows creators to reinvest in the project and hire additional artists and builders to further develop the land.
