Hollywood is turning Crypto’s biggest mystery into a thriller. Killing Satoshi, a new film about Bitcoin creator Nakamoto at Lara, will begin filming in London this October and will drop in 2026.
Director Doug Liman, behind Mr. Smith, Edge of Tomorrow, Made in America, and Killing Satoshi, the filmmakers explore the powerful elite who have decided to hide the mystery of the creator of Bitcoin and Satoshi’s true identity, according to a new report from Variety.

One of the most talked about releases of last year was HBO’s Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery, a documentary claiming it didn’t cover up Satoshi. The film pointed out the contographer and longtime Bitcoin developer Peter Todd as the elusive creator of Bitcoin, but Todd denied the claim.
“Killing Satoshi” is one of the first big Hollywood thrillers to put the mystical creator of Bitcoin into the spotlight.
According to Arkham Intelligence, the wallet linked to Nakamoto at holds over $121 billion in Bitcoin at today’s prices, remaining untouched separately from some early test transactions.
