The reason for K9 Finance’s exclusion has not been disclosed at the time of this writing, but K9 encourages users affected by the Shibarium hack to contact K9 Finance. $SHIB team.
K9 Finance’s exclusion follows the decision to discontinue all Shibarium products in late February this year, although this has not yet been confirmed as the reason for its exclusion from the SOU system.
In late January, K9 Finance announced that following the September bridge exploit, its DAO had approved an orderly and permanent retirement of all products deployed on Shibarium, effective February 25, 2026.
As part of these efforts, K9 sent a reminder to users this week to withdraw all their assets from Bonecrusher by sunset, February 25, 2026.
Alarm issued
Shiba Inu SOU began operation as part of recovery efforts for users affected by the Shibarium hacking incident last September. This effort will support affected Shibarium users with payments, donations, and occasional rewards.
SOUs are cryptographic evidence of a user’s ownership of a claim and are permanently recorded on the Ethereum blockchain.
As Shiba Inu SOU departs, Shiba Inu team member Lucy issues a major fraud alert regarding a fake SOU portal.
Lucie added that these scams are aimed at draining users’ wallets and cautioned users to only use official portals.
