Tonkeeper Pro is an upgraded version of the main self-custodytonkeeper wallet for the Open Network (TON) blockchain, and supports Tether (USDT) TRC20 tokens that do not require Tron (TRX) according to the latest update shared with Finbold on Friday, March 14th.
Thanks to the integration of Tonkeeper battery, users can use TON or USDT to cover transaction fees via in-app purchases on iOS and Android.
To use the new TRC20 feature, users must open their Tonkeeper Pro desktop wallet, go to Settings and activate the options.
Simplifying crypto trading
Tonkeeper Battery acts as a prepaid service within your wallet, allowing users to load credits that automatically handle transfer fees.
To refill the battery, users can rely on many supported tokens or use their bank cards directly via in-app purchases.
Oleg Andreev, CEO of Tonkeeper, briefly summarises the benefits of the integration, saying:
“Tonkeeper’s mission is to make crypto payments easier for everyone and everyone. With USDT-TRC20 support in Tonkeeper Pro, users can pay USDT without balancing the TRX. Fees are covered by Tonkeeper batteries. With USDT-TRC20 support, people are gradually migrating to USDT with TON. This means that trading fees are significantly lower and there is USDT.”
Place Tonkeeper Pro as a payment first wallet
Users do not need to keep TRX for network charges. The addition of the USDTTRC20 supports this and highlights the Tonkeeper Pro’s status as a payment first wallet.
Traditionally, Tron-based USDT transfers meant the need to manage energy and bandwidth costs that often cover fees with TRX.
TonKeeper Battery removes some of these issues by automatically estimating transaction needs and covering them without TRX. Therefore, the upgrade supports Tonkeeper Pro’s broader mission to make digital transactions more efficient and accessible.
