As the price of Ethereum (ETH) soars past the $3,000 level, Ethereum (ETH) founder Vitalik Buterin made a notable move on-chain.
According to the data, Buterin transferred approximately $2.9 million worth of ETH to the privacy-focused protocol Railgun. The transfer has been closely monitored by market participants, as such transactions to Railgun typically lead to a possible subsequent sale.
ETH price has increased by more than 5% in the past 24 hours, reaching $3,032. The rally has reignited investors’ risk appetite, even though Ethereum is still down more than 38% from its all-time high of $4,953 in August 2025. The timing of this transfer, which coincided with prices reaching key thresholds, stimulated further speculation.
A review of Buterin’s on-chain assets revealed that his total assets are approximately $738.6 million. He has 240,002 ETH in his main wallet, with a current value of approximately $727.46 million. He also holds an additional position of 2,921 AETHWETH worth $8.83 million and a smaller holding position of 10 billion WHITE tokens worth approximately $1.26 million.
