The collaboration between 0G Foundation and Alibaba Cloud marks a major shift in artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, giving autonomous AI agents direct on-chain access to the Qwen family of large-scale language models.
Important points:
- 0G Foundation and Alibaba Cloud launched on-chain access to Qwen LLM for AI agents on April 21, 2026.
- This move moves AI from APIs to tokenized systems, allowing Qwen3.6 to reach emerging autonomous platforms.
- Developers can now use 0G’s verifiable data layer to build multi-step agent workflows that are 100% auditable.
Bridging the gap between AI and blockchain
A new collaboration between 0G Foundation and Alibaba Cloud, Alibaba Group’s digital and intelligence backbone, gives artificial intelligence (AI) agents direct access to on-chain top-level large-scale language models for the first time. The partnership provides blockchain-based access to Alibaba’s Qwen, one of the most widely adopted large-scale language model (LLM) families.
This move moves AI infrastructure from a centralized, API-based system to programmable, tokenized access designed for autonomous agents. Although AI agents are gaining traction across the industry, their effectiveness is limited by the difficulty of integrating leading models into agent-driven environments at scale. Most LLMs remain gated behind centralized APIs that require account setup, legal billing, and manual configuration, introducing friction into autonomous systems.
This collaboration allows developers to embed Qwen access directly into their infrastructure through a token-based mechanism. This eliminates the need for traditional account management and provides on-demand programmatic access to AI computing. Agents running on 0G can query Qwen to generate responses, process information, and perform tasks in real-time.
“At a high level, inference is performed on Qwen and validation is performed on 0G, forming a more complete foundation for computing and trust in autonomous AI systems,” said Michael Heinrich, CEO and co-founder of 0G Labs. “Qwen’s integration with 0G and Alibaba Cloud marks a milestone where top-level intelligence meets trusted infrastructure.”
Developed by Alibaba, Qwen has become one of the most widely downloaded model families and supports multimodal and enterprise use cases. Its latest release, Qwen3.6, demonstrated superior performance across multiple benchmarks, strengthening its position among leading AI systems.
This collaboration highlights the growing importance of accessibility and distribution in the AI ecosystem. By enabling decentralized and tokenized access, Qwen’s reach extends beyond traditional enterprise environments to emerging autonomous systems.
Developers can now use Qwen to build agent-driven workflows for natural language understanding, automated decision-making, and multi-step inference. By combining 0G’s verifiable compute and data layers, the system strengthens reliability and auditability, which are key requirements for large-scale autonomous AI deployments.
