Neo-global development is “rock, paper, scissorsA game on the Neo X sidechain that allows users to directly experience Neo’s anti-MEV capabilities. This game can be played live on rps.ngd.network.
MEV refers to the profits that block producers and bots can earn by reordering, inserting, or front-running transactions within a block, often at the expense of standard users. Front-running occurs when bots monitor the mempool (a public waiting area where pending transactions wait before being confirmed), discover profitable moves, and rush into competing transactions with higher fees to capture profits first.
Game mechanics
Players connect to their wallet using one of three options: MetaMask, Neon Wallet, or WalletConnect. Participant requires at least 0.1 $GAS Neo X covers the transactions you need.
There are two modes in the game and the difference between them is the lesson. Standard mode advertises 10x payouts, while MEV protected mode pays 2x.
The bigger the standard mode reward, the better the deal. In standard mode, the player’s hand is sent through a public pool where the leading bot can observe it and copy it in time to claim the prize, exposing the headline payout to capture.
In MEV protection mode, hands remain hidden until the outcome is determined, preventing runaways and allowing players to keep their small but sure winnings.
NGD recommends players try both modes in small doses. $GAS The game explains why each round was won or lost and how MEV affected the outcome.
all $GAS Anything accumulated in-game, such as rewards earned by bots or rewards earned by the house, is returned to the pool so players can continue testing. NGD said it will continue to replenish the pool as needed.
protection underneath
Neo X uses dBFT consensus and envelope transactions to eliminate harmful MEVs at the protocol level. dBFT is the consensus mechanism that Neo uses to terminate blocks. Enveloped transactions are kept encrypted and hidden until they are finalized and ordered within a block, so validators, block producers, or MEV searchers cannot view or exploit them in advance.
This is why the player’s movements are not visible in the game until the end of the round. NGD says, “No one can peep, no one can get ahead. Win or lose, the game is fair.”
Neo X’s anti-MEV system went live through the v0.4.2 upgrade in September 2025. This mechanism relies on distributed key generation and decryption thresholds, requiring a quorum of two-thirds of consensus nodes to decrypt a transaction only after the transaction order is confirmed. of rock, paper, scissors This game showcases protections that are already shipping, rather than new infrastructure.
The game’s code is completely open source and hosted in COZ’s GitHub repository.
