NVIDIA’s investment arm NVentures invested around $196 million (£145 million) in Revolut last year, according to recent public filings from Companies House in the UK. NVentures owns approximately 141,834 shares, according to filings.
The funding helped Revolut maintain its $75 billion price tag, making it one of Europe’s most highly valued private technology companies. This valuation was made during the secondary sale of Revolut shares in 2025.
Most of this funding came from secondary sales, meaning Revolut did not raise any new funds for day-to-day operations. Instead, current shareholders and staff sold some of their shares. Many prominent investors also participated, including Coatue, Greenoaks, Dragoneer, Fidelity, Andreessen Horowitz, Franklin Templeton, and T. Rowe Price.
Revolut’s crypto ambitions
Although Nvidia has not explicitly disclosed investments related to cryptocurrencies, the deal could nonetheless strengthen Revolut’s position in Europe’s regulated digital asset market in several ways.
For example, this increases Revolut’s organizational credibility. Companies that have established backers with deep pockets and a clear history of good decision-making tend to look more attractive to other institutional investors. This added reliability goes a long way.
Revolut already had some high-profile backers, but the addition of NVentures gives the licensed digital bank a significant boost in credibility as it rolls out more regulated services such as crypto trading. Although this does not guarantee success in the cryptocurrency industry, it can help users feel more secure about entrusting their money to the platform.
Will this strengthen Revolut’s position under MiCA?
The news may also give Revolut a better position under European crypto regulations. MiCA requires all cryptocurrency companies to follow the same set of rules regarding licensing, management, reserves and reporting, which could work in Revolut’s favor.
Namely, the company has spent years of effort building its regulated banking business across Europe and continues to expand into new markets. Just a few days ago, Revolut secured preliminary approval for its crypto services in the UAE, proving that it is serious about offering regulated crypto services on a global scale.
While Nvidia’s investment does not directly impact licensing, stronger financial backing and advanced AI capabilities could make it easier for Revolut to scale its crypto offerings while meeting today’s stringent financial regulatory requirements.
