Unserious Inc. officially acquires Creepz and creates Ethereum $NFT Original artist Psychrome returned to lead the creative revival, and the brand was established under new ownership. However, financial terms were not disclosed and the structure of the deal remains unclear.
In a July 23 announcement, entrepreneur and collector Adam Weitzman supported the deal and said the project’s founders would support the transition.
Psychrome returns to reshape Creepz’s creative direction
Psychochrome will oversee intellectual property development and creative direction, according to the disclosure. His return brings back the artist who created the project’s lizard characters, visual identity, and lore, giving familiar creative leadership to the collection after several years away from the world of Lemuria.
The announcement also highlighted Psychrome’s commercial work involving Nike, Salomon, Disney, Warner Bros., Rovio and Sneaker Con.
Unserious continues Creepz’ gaming and media ambitions
Creepz was launched in January 2022. $NFT Market speculation peak. Since then, OpenSea has accumulated approximately 11,100 items and approximately 27,400 ETH.
Nevertheless, the brand later expanded beyond profile picture collectibles. In 2023, Overlord introduced a Spotify pilot that gave owners access to token-gated playlists.
Creepz has also entered fashion through its “Invasion” clothing collection with British retailer END. At the same time, Overlord partnered with REVOVING Games to develop a sci-fi game based on the same world.
Weitzman said that prior to the acquisition, he had purchased 636 NFTs representing the project’s entire finances, as well as an additional portion of the original collection, emphasizing that he had been involved with the project before endorsing the deal.
Despite the ownership change, neither party explained whether existing games, owner benefits, licensing agreements, or the proposed CREEPZ token would continue unchanged under the new ownership structure.
With Psychrome returning to head creative development and Weitsman backing the acquisition, all eyes are on how Unserious will shape the next phase of the Creepz brand.
